How Email2Invoice Works
Rather than comply with an existing EDI standard, the Email2Invoice approach offers a flexible low cost solution using the internet and an appropriate data format from the business system creating the invoice.
Step 1 – Install Email2Invoice print driver
Email2Invoice provides a print driver which the user installs on a MS Windows Server or any convenient PC on the network.
The Email2Invoice printer then appears like any other shared Windows printer on the network. See screen shot below:
Step 2 – Print invoices to the Email2Invoice printer
The user then redirects the printing of invoices to the Email2Invoice printer. The Email2Invoice printer collects the invoices, then automatically sends an email to their customer with the print data attached.
The customer then runs a process which retrieves the email and extracts the invoicing data and submits this automatically to their business system. If the customer has no facility to automatically monitor an email address, Document Genetics recommend the use of Formate software to achieve this.
