Formate 10 Cool Ideas workshop is a big success

On Tuesday of last week (6th November) Document Genetics ran a full day workshop to a group of customers at their offices in Northampton.

The workshop included training, discussion, tips, free scripts (where applicable) and a question and answer session.

Dave Harris from Allied Maxcut Engineering commented "Many thanks for yesterdays training, as always I have got back into the office with a load more ideas for using Formate. The day was really enjoyable and most informative."

Topics covered included:

1. Advanced PDF editing - reading data, splitting, adding images/OMR and pulling in external PDF documents
2. The new duplex stream command
3. Polling POP3 mailboxes - possible applications
4. Working with databases - creating connect strings, reading and writing data and possible applications
5. Reading and writing XML data
6. Working with MS Excel - how to use and some interesting uses
7. Interfacing to our 3rd party products and solutions - these include, Barcode Recognition Engine, Kodak Capture Pro Scanning software, infoRouter DMS, ParetoPost™ secure web portal software, PDF Print, RoboFTP
8. Formate Reviewer - quick overview of a new development which allows you to review Formate documents prior to release
9. Using SMS, Fax and Print bureau services from Formate
10. Programming Tips - Best practice, use of functions, using Windows Command line
